My Career Journey

My career journey has been anything but linear, but it’s shaped my deep understanding of how career and personal fulfillment are intertwined. Originally from Alabama, I’ve had the privilege of living and working in a variety of cultures, which has shaped my perspective on career in many different contexts. After earning a Master’s degree in Bilingual and Multicultural Education in Spain, I taught English and Spanish in diverse settings, from primary and secondary schools in Spain to a boarding school in Vermont. I also gained valuable experience working in educational administration, where I developed a strong understanding of organizational dynamics and the challenges individuals face in their careers. Along the way, I explored opportunities in China and the Netherlands before eventually settling in Colorado.

While my work in education was rewarding, I felt disconnected from my true calling. The pandemic became a turning point, prompting me to reflect on my values, career needs, and what truly mattered to me in a work environment. This led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Counseling and Career Development at Colorado State University, where I deepened my understanding of how career choices affect mental well-being and refined my ability to support individuals in navigating career decisions through a mental health-centered approach.

I believe career is a lifelong journey—one that involves reflection, growth, and continuous reevaluation of what’s meaningful. My own journey has allowed me to understand the importance of aligning one’s career with personal well-being, and I’m passionate about supporting others in this process.

My Approach

In our sessions, you’ll find a compassionate, open space where we’ll look at your career journey so far—what’s worked, what hasn’t, and where you want to go next. Using techniques from Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy, we’ll work in a collaborative, goal-oriented way, focusing on actionable steps to create meaningful change. By examining your values and personal story, we can shift limiting beliefs and identify the direction that will bring you more fulfillment and alignment in your professional and personal life.
